TUNER

Online guitar tuner

Play one string at a time. The needle centres and turns green when you are within five cents.

The tuner listens to an input on this machine — a microphone, or an instrument plugged into an audio interface.

How to tune with it

Press Let it listen and allow the microphone, choose your instrument and tuning, then play one string at a time. The needle shows how far off the note is in cents and turns green within five cents of it.

Standard guitar tuning, from the thickest string to the thinnest, is E A D G B E. The list also has drop D, half a step down, DADGAD and open G, four-string bass, the ukulele with a high G, a low G or as a baritone, and a chromatic mode for anything else.

It listens in your browser and records nothing: the sound from the microphone is read for its pitch and never stored or sent anywhere.
